Weather Watch Unserviceability Crosses consist of two white strips, 0.9 meters wide and 6 meters long, which bisect each other at right angles in the centre. A 'total unserviceability' signal must be displayed in a signal area when an aerodrome is closed to landing aircraft. Displayed at each end of the runway, and in intervals of not more than 200 meters, unserviceability crosses are essential for any airstrip undergoing repair. Weather Watch Unserviceability Crosses are made from white, 'Series 3', UV stabilized materials, giving maximum durability while providing excellent ground visibility. Unserviceability Crosses are made to Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) recommendations. |
