Glider Operation Signals are required by Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to be displayed in a signal area at an aerodrome when glider operations are taking place. Glider Operation Signals consist of a white strip 5 meters long and 0.4 meters wide, crossed at right angles by 2 strips 0.4 meters wide and 2.5 meters long as can be seen in the diagram. Such intersections occur at 1.05 meters from the closest end of the horizontal strip. Weather Watch Glider Operation Signals are made from white, 'Series 3', UV stabilized materials, giving maximum durability while providing excellent ground visibility. They are made in accordance with CASA recommendations. |
